HopeTree Family Services officially dedicated its 19th group home for adults with intellectual disabilities on April 24.
The HopeTree Wright Home, located in Virginia Beach, is the result of nearly two years of dedicated effort by Board of Trustees member Richard Wright and his wife, Jean.
Inspired by the success of the nearby HopeTree Foster Home, the Wrights felt compelled to help meet the substantial need for additional services in their area. Nearly two years ago, they took it upon themselves to lead efforts to raise funds to purchase a suitable house to create a new home for women with intellectual disabilities.
On dedication day, two women were already in residence. Others will soon join the HopeTree DDM family in the Wright Home where they will experience an unequaled level of care and Christian companionship from their house mates and staff.
Thanks to generous supporters like the Wrights, nearly 100 men and women across Virginia have the wonderful opportunity to lead full, productive lives in the Developmental Disabilities Ministry.
