Job Requirements:
This job requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Experience or education in mental health, human services, health care or special education preferred. Experience in working with adults with intellectual disabilities is a plus. Emotional maturity and patience to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with intellectual disabilities is critical. Strong oral and written communication skills is desired. Must be over 21 years of age, possess a good driving record and a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner.
Job Summary:
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for program participants well-being by providing a secure and responsive environment that enables each individual to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities. The DSP is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the work site.
Maintenance Assistant
Full-time Position available in: Salem, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday (40 hours a week)
Job Requirements:
The Maintenance Assistant requires either a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma. The incumbent will have basic knowledge of the use and maintenance of lawn and garden equipment, and the ability to perform basic home maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, and electric work.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing basic maintenance and repair services to the buildings and grounds located at the Salem Campus as well as completing other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Residential Care Supervisor
Full-time Position available in: Richmond, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday (37 1/2 hours a week)
Job Requirements:
A minimum of an associates degree is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent work experience. At least three years of full-time direct service with persons with developmental disabilities, human services, healthcare or special education is needed. The Residential Care Supervisor must have demonstrated exceptional leadership ability. This person must demonstrate the emotional maturity and patience necessary to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities, nurturing their self-sufficiency and enhancing their quality of life. The candidate must possess good writing and communication skills, computer skills, be over 21 years of age, and possess a good driving record and a valid Virginia license. Must have the ability to represent the Agency in a positive manner.
Job Summary:
The Residential Care Supervisor coordinates services and care for all residents in the home(s) for which he/she is responsible including, but not limited to, providing a secure and responsive environment so that each resident may have the opportunity to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities. The Residential Care Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of one or more group homes, including the overall supervision, scheduling and coordination of the staff of each home under his/her care.
Residential Counselor
Full-time, Part-time and Relief positions available in: Craig County, VA.
FT Schedule: 3 days on/3 days off
Job Requirements:
The Residential Counselor shall have a bachelor’s degree in human services; an associates degree and 3 months experience working with children; OR a high school diploma or GED and have 6 months experience working with children. He/she must demonstrate the leadership, knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out program goals and objectives and have demonstrated through previous life and work experiences, an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which he/she will be responsible. Residential Counselors must be at least 21 years of age.
Job Summary:
The Residential Counselor will provide social, behavioral, vocational and academic opportunities for learning. As child care worker, primary counselor, teacher, the individual will facilitate the day-to-day schedules, groups, discipline and progress of students within the program. The individual will document all information as called for by the licensing agent, licensing standards or program guidelines. The Residential Counselor will maintain a close relationship with teachers and supervisors. The incumbent will participate in the planning and carrying out of adventure-based activities and trips. In addition they will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing physical care
2. Development of acceptable habits and attitudes
3. Management of residential behavior
4. Helping to meet goals and objectives of any required service plan
Teacher
Full-time Position available in: Salem, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements:
This position requires no less than a Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university. A current special education license to teach at the middle and secondary education levels with endorsements for and experience with working with learning disabled, emotionally and intellectually disabled and other “at-risk” students is preferred. The teacher must be able to demonstrate the professional ability to deal effectively with a wide range of student dysfunctional behaviors and academic deficiencies, with students ages 12-17. The teacher must demonstrate the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services to the community at large in a positive manner.
Job Summary:
The Teacher will provide social, moral, and academic opportunities for learning. The teacher will maintain a close working relationship with the educational staff within the Academy. The teacher will communicate with and work cooperatively with child care and social work staff to ensure optimal direct supervision of all students.
Office Manager
Full-time Position available in: Chester, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma. A graduate of an accredited business college or four years secretarial experience preferred. The Office Manager must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Must have the ability to make decisions regarding the efficient execution of the job’s responsibilities; the ability to retain confidential information; demonstrates proper knowledge of grammar and usage; must have excellent typing skills and a working knowledge of all office equipment. Extensive computer experience (Microsfot Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is also required.
Job Summary:
The Office Manager has the overall responsibility for all office related activities, as well as the day-to-day operation of the clerical support system. He/she has the responsibility of ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment and maintaining all telephone services. He/she assists in the planning and implementation of the Child Placing Services function.
