Direct Support Professional

Job Requirements:
This job requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Experience or education in mental health, human services, health care or special education preferred. Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities is a plus. Emotional maturity and patience to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with intellectual disabilities is critical. Strong oral and written communication skills is desired. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record. Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner.

Job Summary:
These positions are in a Group Home setting for Adults with Developmental Disabilities AND also available within our In Home Program. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for program participants well-being by providing a secure and responsive environment that enables each individual to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities.

Area Coordinator

Positions available in:  Fredericksburg, VA 
Department:  DDM (Developmental Disabilities Ministry) 
Schedule:
 Full time; 37.5 hrs/wk;  M – Fri 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a human services field plus two years supervisory experience. Minimum of five years equivalent work experience supervising a DBHDS licensed program will also be considered.  Good oral and written communication skills will be necessary.  Must possess a valid Virginia’s driver’s license and be insurable.  Must demonstrate the ability to understand and advocate for persons with disabilities, supervise and train staff, interpret and maintain appropriate regulations and licensure requirements, as well as represent the agency in the community in a positive manner. Regular travel within assigned areas.

Job Summary:
The Area Coordinator works to coordinate the management and supervision of group homes, staff, and services in assigned areas.  The Area Coordinator coordinates case management for program participants and coordinates program support to managers and families and ensures compliance with all necessary standards and regulations.  The Area Coordinator reports directly to the Eastern or Western Director of his/her area.

Group Home Manager

Schedule:  Full-time; 37.5 hrs/wk; M – F 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Requirements:
A minimum of an Associates Degree is required; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent work experience.  At least three years of full-time direct service with persons with intellectual disabilities, human services, healthcare or special education is needed.  The Manager must have demonstrated leadership ability. This person must demonstrate the emotional maturity and patience necessary to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities, nurturing their self-sufficiency and enhancing their quality of life.  The candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills, and computer skills.  Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record.  Must have the ability to represent the Agency in a positive manner.

Job Summary: 
The Manager coordinates services and care for all residents in the home(s) for which he/she is responsible including, but not limited to, providing a secure and responsive environment so that each resident may have the opportunity to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities.  The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the group home, including the overall supervision, scheduling and coordination of the staff under his/her care.

Residential Counselor – Night

Position available in: New Castle, VA
Department:  Children’s Ministry – Boy’s WOODS Program
Schedule:  Full Time – Overnight Position

Job Requirements:
The Residential Counselor shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in human services; an Associates Degree and 3 months experience working with children; OR a high school diploma or GED and have 6 months experience working with children. The Residential Counselor shall have demonstrated, through previous life and work experiences, an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which they will be responsible. He/she must possess the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in the community and have the ability to function as part of a team. Good written and oral communication skills a must. Must have knowledge of adolescent behaviors and appropriate boundaries with clients.  Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supervising the residents and ensuring their safety.  Responsible for monitoring the sleeping quarters and ensuring campus buildings are locked and secured.   Individual will oversee physical care and assist residents with meeting their goals and objectives set within service plans.  When needed individual will provide opportunities for learning and document tasks according to program and licensing guidelines.

 Instructional Assistant

Schedule:  Considered temporary full-time

Job Requirements:
Minimum Associate’s Degree and/or teaching or teacher’s aid experience working with special education and/or  “at risk” populations is preferred.  Must be able to work in an environment with distractions and frequent interruptions. Must be respectful to and empathetic of “at risk” students.

Job Summary:
The Instructional Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to instructional programs and assisting teachers in achieving educational objectives and skills by working with individual students and small groups in various learning environments. This professional assists the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly-functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials on their individual academic functioning level.

 Accounts Receivable Coordinator 

Position available in:  Salem, VA
Department:   Administration
Schedule:  Full-time; 37.5 hrs/wk; M – F 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Requirements:  Minimum of a high school diploma with at least five years of job related experience, Associate Degree in Business or Accounting is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must also be proficient in Word and Excel.  Proficiency with windows-based integrated computer operated accounting systems and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

Job Summary:  Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all customer invoices, the Accurate recording of cash receipts and bank deposits, collection of past due accounts, resolving customer billing discrepancies and assisting  with the month end close.
