Job Requirements:
This job requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Experience or education in mental health, human services, health care or special education preferred. Experience in working with adults with intellectual disabilities is a plus. Emotional maturity and patience to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with intellectual disabilities is critical. Strong oral and written communication skills is desired. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record. Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner.

Job Summary:
This position is in a Group Home setting for Adults with Developmental Disabilities. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for program participants well-being by providing a secure and responsive environment that enables each individual to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities. The DSP is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the work site.

Case Worker

Department:  Children’s Ministries
Schedule:  Full-time 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary depending on the needs of foster families and children placed in the home.

Job Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in social work from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or a field related to social work such as sociology, psychology, special education or counseling with a student placement in casework services to children and families or one year of experience providing casework services to children and families OR a Bachelor’s  degree in any field plus two years experience in providing casework services to children and families. Candidate must demonstrate the emotional maturity and ability to deal effectively with social, psychological and emotional problems of children in foster home settings. Must demonstrate the leadership, knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out program goals and objectives.  Knowledge of family systems, community resources, adolescent behaviors and mental health issues.  Must possess necessary skills and abilities to make appropriate independent decisions and work in a team environment. Candidates must possess good oral and written communication skills, Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record.  Must have the ability to represent the Agency in a positive manner.

Job Summary: 

The caseworker is responsible for providing casework services to children placed in treatment foster care homes and their certified foster families.  Responsibilities include completing monitoring visits and contacts in the foster home, providing training, support and guidance to certified foster parents, preparing and maintaining foster home records in accordance with licensure standards and conducting home studies.

Job Requirements:

A Master’s Degree in social work, psychology or counseling, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in social work or psychology with documented field work experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of professional experience working with children. Experience with a child caring agency is preferred. The social worker must demonstrate the emotional maturity and ability to deal effectively with social, psychological and emotional problems of children. Must demonstrate the leadership, knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out program goals and objectives. Knowledge of family systems, community resources, adolescent behaviors and mental health issues. Job Summary: 

The social worker will coordinate all services offered to each resident.  Provide casework services to residents to include processing applications, admissions and service plans; monitoring progress of placements; working with residents, parents and legal guardians to promote their capacity to function productively in their interpersonal relationships; maintaining appropriate community resources involved in supporting  residents, parents and legal guardians; working closely with child care staff; promoting a responsible therapeutic approach to working with residents and their families; goal setting with residents, parents and legal guardians;  monitoring the resident’s progress and discharge planning

This person must demonstrate the emotional maturity and patience necessary to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities, nurturing their self-sufficiency and enhancing their quality of life.  The candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills, and computer skills.  Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record.  Must have the ability to represent the Agency in a positive manner.

Job Summary: 
The Manager coordinates services and care for all residents in the home(s) for which he/she is responsible including, but not limited to, providing a secure and responsive environment so that each resident may have the opportunity to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities.  The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of one or more group homes, including the overall supervision, scheduling and coordination of the staff of each home under his/her care.

Schedule:  Full Time – 3 Days On and 3 Days Off / On-Site Shifts

The Residential Counselor shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in human services; an Associates Degree and 3 months experience working with children; OR a high school diploma or GED and have 6 months experience working with children. The Residential Counselor shall have demonstrated, through previous life and work experiences, an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which they will be responsible. He/she must possess the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in the community and have the ability to function as part of a team. Good written and oral communication skills a must. Must have knowledge of adolescent behaviors and appropriate boundaries with clients.  Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record. Staff will work a 3 day on and 3 day off shift that requires staff to remain on campus the entire shift.

Job Summary:

Counselor will provide social, behavioral, vocational, academic opportunities for learning; facilitate the day-to-day schedules, groups, discipline and progress of youth.  Responsibilities include documentation for licensing/program guidelines, overseeing physical care of youth, development of acceptable habits and attitudes, managing behaviors, assisting to meet goals and objectives required of individual service plans.

Schedule:  Considered temporary full-time for academic school year

Job Requirements:
Minimum Associate’s Degree and/or teaching or teacher’s aid experience working with special education and/or  “at risk” populations is preferred.  Must be able to work in an environment with distractions and frequent interruptions. Must be respectful to and empathetic of “at risk” students.

Job Summary:
The Instructional Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to instructional programs and assisting teachers in achieving educational objectives and skills by working with individual students and small groups in various learning environments. This professional assists the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly-functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials on their individual academic functioning level.

Shift Leader 

Position available in: Craig County, VA

Schedule:  Full Time – 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm                                                               Some weekend work required

Job Requirements:
The Shift Leader shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in human services; OR an Associates Degree and 6 months experience working with children; OR a high school diploma or GED and have 12 months experience working with children. He/she shall have demonstrated, through previous life and work experiences, an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which he/she will be responsible. The shift leader must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of behaviors from students and staff, the ability and willingness to establish a creative and flexible learning environment and the leadership knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out program goals and objectives.  Must possess the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in the community and have the ability to function as part of a team. Job Summary:
 The Shift Leader will provide social, behavioral, vocational and academic opportunities for learning.   Schedule and facilitate the day-to-day programs and groups and monitor the discipline and progress of students within the program.  The individual will document all information as required by licensing standards or program guidelines. Maintain a close relationship with teachers and counselors.  This individual will participate in the planning and implementation of adventure-based activities and trips and facilitate training for counselors.  Leader will have direct responsibility for guidance and supervision of the children to whom assigned overseeing physical care,  development of acceptable habits and attitudes, management of residential behavior and helping to meet the goals and objectives of any required service plan.
