Trust, Connection, & Transformation
Christopher Morris, an Education Supervisor at HopeTree Academy, has spent his career building meaningful relationships with students. One such connection, with a 12-year-old boy from HopeTree’s residential program, underscores the transformative power of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®). After the boy struggled with emotional regulation and refused to attend school, Morris took a compassionate approach—sitting with him, listening, and offering support. This simple yet powerful act of connection led to the boy returning to school and beginning to thrive. With guidance from Dr. Challen Mabry, this story highlights how personal care and intentional relationships can create lasting change for children who have experienced trauma.
