Community Engagement
Fostering Independence & Community
HopeTree Family Services is a faith-based organization that has consistently provided high-quality services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Guided by the belief that every individual deserves access to resources that promote autonomy and support personal decision-making, HopeTree offers a broad continuum of services designed to empower those it serves.
The Community Engagement and Community Coaching program provides community-based services to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. With a focus on small groups, typically no more than three individuals, the program ensures personalized attention and assistance, fostering skill development and increasing independence. In a non-center-based environment, individuals are encouraged to make choices in their daily activities while receiving professional guidance.
Recognizing that each individual’s needs vary in both type and intensity, our services are tailored to match each person with a Direct Support Professional who is best suited to support their unique abilities. The program focuses on developing skills in areas such as daily routines, communication, problem-solving, financial management, and medical care. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance independence, self-advocacy and quality of life while closely monitoring progress based on each individual’s personalized service plan.
