Adults 21 and older who are in good health, have stable housing and income, and can pass a background check. You can be single, married, partnered, a homeowner, or a renter. You don't need prior parenting experience.

No. Renters and homeowners both foster with HopeTree. You need a safe bedroom (a shared room can work for younger siblings) and a lease or home that meets basic safety standards.
There's no cost to become a foster parent with HopeTree. Training, licensing, and ongoing support are provided. A monthly stipend helps cover the child's food, clothing, and activities.
The primary goal of foster care is safe reunification with the child's family whenever possible. Some children do become eligible for adoption, and foster parents are often first in line.
