Christopher Morris, an Education Supervisor at HopeTree Academy, has spent his career building meaningful relationships with students. One such connection, with a 12-year-old boy from HopeTree’s residential program, underscores the transformative power of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®). After the boy struggled with emotional regulation and refused to attend school, Morris took a compassionate approach—sitting with him, listening, and offering support. This simple yet powerful act of connection led to the boy returning to school and beginning to thrive. With guidance from Dr. Challen Mabry, this story highlights how personal care and intentional relationships can create lasting change for children who have experienced trauma.

HopeTree Appoints Paxton to Vice President and Chief Operations Officer

HopeTree Family Services, a leader in mental and behavioral health services, has appointed Randi Paxton as Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. In this role, she is responsible for leading the agency’s programs and services lines that include Therapeutic Foster Care, Therapeutic Group Homes, Developmental Disabilities Ministry, HopeTree Academy, and Family Centered Treatment.

HopeTree Appoints Estrada to Director of Foster Care & Adoptions

HopeTree Family Services, a leader in mental and behavioral health services, has appointed Maggie Cox as Director of Family Centered Treatment (FCT). In this role, she is responsible for growing the FCT program and its reach across Virginia through collaborative work with the different Departments of Social Services, CSA localities, and referring organizations.

HopeTree Presents HopeGrows Fundraising Event

HopeGrows is an annual fundraising event to benefit the many programs offered at HopeTree Family Services including Foster Care and Developmental Disabilities Some of those that benefit from this ministry will be in attendance. On Thursday, September 7th at The Taubman Art Museum in Roanoke, a VIP Reception begins at 5:30pm and the seated semi-formal dinner event starts at 6:30pm. National speaker Tori Hope Petersen will speak about her book Fostered and Jenna Zibton from WSLS will MC.
