Direct Support Professional

Department:
DDM (Developmental Disabilities Ministry)

Job Requirements:
This job requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Experience or education in mental health, human services, health care, or special education preferred. Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities is a plus. Emotional maturity and patience to understand and accept the social, psychological, and emotional needs of adults with intellectual disabilities are critical. Strong oral and written communication skills are desired. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and hold an acceptable driving record. Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner.

Job Summary:
These positions are in a Group Home setting for Adults with Developmental Disabilities and are also available within our In-Home Program. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for program participants’ well-being by providing a secure and responsive environment that enables each individual to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual capabilities.

Residential Behavior Specialist

 

Available positions and schedules:

Salem VA, 2pm – 10pm, 3pm – 11pm and 11pm – 7am

Department:
Residential 

Job Requirements:

This Position requires a minimum of high school diploma or GED and 6 months experience working directly with youth required; or an Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field preferred, Ability to function independently and as a team. A knowledge of and ability to manage appropriately various adolescent behaviors in a positive manner. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with youth. MUST be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Job Summary:
HopeTree Family Services is seeking Full-Time Residential Behavior Specialists at our Salem, VA location. Candidates will provide services to at-risk youth ages 11-17 in a therapeutic residential group home setting.

Internships

HopeTree Family Services appreciates your interest in internship opportunities with our agency. We consistently accept interns within our Foster Care Program, Academy, and Residential Program. The availability of internships will depend on the current caseloads of staff and availability to provide necessary requirements to the student.

If selected for an internship with HopeTree Family Services it will be necessary to complete a drug test and background checks.
